Mandarin

Crow in free draining soil to avoid collar rot

Collar rot will cause yellowing of leaves, fruit loss and plant death.

Relatively frost hardy

Gross feeder

Will grow well in pots

Stop feeding in autumn/winter.  Feed in spring/summer

Watch that you do not burn surface feeding roots when fertilizing.

Mulch

Give a deep soak every 2 weeks in dry spells as mandarins require water for juicy fruit

Like air circulation around trunk – Keep mulch and weeds back

Different varieties will ripen different times for example Clementine ripens in July whereas Encore is November to February.
