Borax – alkaline mineral that is an effective antibacterial, fungicidal cleaning and bleaching agent. Valuable as an emulsifier in some recipes. Keeps pests away. Stain remover and deodoriser
Baking Soda – slightly alkaline. Made from Soda Ash
Glycerine – (or Glycerol) Sugar alcohol. Stain remover. Amazing moisturising properties as it is a humectant (attracts water)
Sunlight soap – Derived from animal fats. Contains tetrasodium EDTA and etidronic acid. But compared with commercial cleaners it is the lesser of two evils.
White vinegar – very acidic. Has been around and in use since 5000 BC
