History

Also known as soldiers woundwort, staunchweed, nosebleed, devil’s nettle, devil’s plaything

In Chinese medicine Yarrow is said to be the perfect balance between yin and yang.

Used in tea to help break a fever
In a bath for relaxation
As an astringent it is good for oily skin and pimples
As a hair rinse to help control dandruff
As a companion plant it promotes healthy plants and is said to increase flavour
As an activator in compost
Used to staunch the flow of blood in wounds (pressing leaves to a wound – the haemostatic action of Yarrow will stop the flow of blood)
