Golden Syrup

A traditional Kiwi classic
Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Course: Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams Brown Sugar
  • 150 ml Water
  • 20 ml Lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Simmer slowly 1 hour. Do not boil!
  2. Pour into hot steralised jars

Notes

Use brown sugar for a traditional kiwi Golden Syrup.  White sugar produces a lighter 'English' Syrup.
